Draft Victorian Floodplain Management Strategy
The Victorian Government has released the Draft Victorian Floodplain Management Strategy . The aim of the draft strategy is to better prepare Victoria for severe flooding by enabling communities and relevant agencies to undertake informed management actions. The proposed polices, actions and accountability’s are expected to set the policy direction for floodplain management in Victoria over the next 10 years.
Public comment in sought over a six week consultation period. A series of information sessions are scheduled in regional Victoria and Melbourne in July.
