Wise water ways 2018

Wise Water Ways 2018 will be held from 29 October – 2 November 2018 in Beechworth, North East Victoria.

Now in its 19th year, Wise Water Ways is a unique practical workshop focussing on the management of rural and urban streams and riparian areas.

Held annually in North East Victoria, over 870 individuals from across Australia have completed the 5 day course which provides government staff, consultants, university students, and others with the opportunity to learn, discuss and debate with a wide range of Australian’s top waterways researchers and managers.

Topics include the theory, practice and on-ground techniques of stream rehabilitation, stream assessment, stream ecology, catchment hydrology and geomorphology, stream channel management, water quality, environmental flows, fish habitat requirements, macroinvertebrate identification, riparian vegetation management and community engagement.

The Keynote speaker this year is Dr Jamie Pittock, Associate Professor, Fenner School of Environment and Society, ANU College of Science.
