Brisbane RBMS Seminar – Highlights from 9ASM and the QLD Streambank, In-channel and Riparian Rehabilitation Guidelines

Join us for a special RBMS Seminar in Brisbane. During the first half of the seminar we will hear a range of talks which were highlights of the recent 9th Australian Stream Management Conference which was held in Hobart in August. Following drinks and nibbles we will then hear from Mick Cheetham who will be talking about the new Queensland Riparian Management Guidelines. The Guidelines cover the principles of streambank, riparian and in-channel rehabilitation and restoration, including stream classification, restoration objectives, management techniques, best management practice and incorporate demonstrable outcomes and operational case studies.

  1. Barnaby Resch (Logan City Council) – Returning native fish to an urban creek in Logan
  2. Marie Bigot (Hydrobiology)- Derivation of site-specific water quality objectives within a highly disturbed Tasmanian catchment
  3. Alan Hoban (Bligh Tanner) – Design Your Creek Week – Community co-design to for a 1.6 km waterway naturalisation project.
  4. Tony Weber (Alluvium) – Costs of achieving the water quality targets for the Great Barrier Reef

5:30 pm – 6:00 pm Drinks and nibbles
