Geelong Reading Group – Adaptive management: from more talk to real action

10/12/2015 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

RBMS Reading Group – now in Geelong!

The River Basin Management Society is pleased to invite you to the next RBMS Geelong reading group on the afternoon of Thursday 10th December. The reading groups are a chance to have a relaxed discussion about an interesting, topical, controversial or informative topic over a beverage or two.

We invite you to join us to discuss the paper Adaptive Management: From More Talk to Real Action (link to pdf here)Our venue will be Little Creatures Geelong Brewery, 4:30 – 5:30pm on Thursday 10th of December.

This paper presents a framework for adaptive management and examines the key elements of adaptive decision making, technical and social learning, and barriers to success. Several successful waterway management case studies are also presented from around the world.

It would be great to hear from our members (and anyone new who would like to attend) about their experiences regarding the challenges and opportunities of implementing adaptive management.

Hope to see you there!
