Highlights of 9ASM on the Murray – Wodonga

December 11 @ 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm

9asm Wodonga

The River Basin Management Society (RBMS) and local partners are proud to present Highlights of 9ASM on the Murray.

The 9th Australian Stream Management Conference (9ASM) was held in Hobart earlier this year. It featured over 100 presentations from researchers, students, and practitioners dedicated to investigating and managing stream ecosystems and catchments throughout Australia.

Highlights of 9ASM on the Murray will feature a selection of local presenters and local topics, focussed around the Murray River and this part of its catchment.

You are invited to come along and celebrate our region, local research and share great ideas with your colleagues. Wine and cheese will be provided by Wise Waterways. We will also be exploring interest in setting up a regular seminar series on natural resource management (NRM) activities in our region.

Presentations include:

  • Hugo Bowman (Murray Darling Basin Authority) – Managing erosion from vessel wash on a reach of the Murray River
  • Ben Berry (NSW Soil Conservation Service) – The Murray River from a different perspective – A short film
  • Lizzie Pope (Snowy Hydro Limited) – Data versus Desktop: An assessment of the severity of cold water pollution in the Swampy Plains and Murray Rivers below Khancoban Dam
