The RBMS will be making a submission to the State Environment Protection Policy (SEPP) Waters of Victoria Review. This reading group will help canvass the views of our members to inform that submission.
The first stage of public consultation has commenced with the release of a discussion paper, which is available online at http://www.delwp.vic.gov.au/state-environment-protection-policy-waters-review. The discussion paper aims to facilitate discussion and increase understanding of the role of SEPP in setting a framework for the protection of water environments. The discussion paper provides the basis for this reading group.
A supplementary information sheet, Improving water quality in Victoria – the role of the SEPP (Waters) review, is also available online and provides some context and background information on the role of the SEPP in the protection of water quality in Victoria.
The discussion paper poses a series of questions throughout, seeking feedback on how you believe water environments should be managed and protected, both now and in the future. If you’re unable to make this reading group, it will be possible to provide feedback to the committee by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: This reading group is scheduled for a Monday at 7.40 am, rather than the usual Thursday 7.30 am time slot.
