RBMS Melbourne Seminar – Emergency management in Victorian river basins and abroad

25/06/2015 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The RBMS committee invites you to explore current thinking and ongoing efforts in emergency management in both a local (Victorian) and international (developing) context.

Estrella Melero-Blanca will present her international experience in emergency management, focusing on information management in a developing context. Estrella is a spatial scientist with GHD and has recently returned from a professional volunteer role in the Dominican Republic.

Steve Muncaster and Liz Johnston from the Department of Land, Environment, Water and Planning (DELWP) will discuss what is influencing emergency management policy and strategy in Victoria, and how current investigations and partnerships are contributing to Victoria’s preparation and response.

Presentations will be followed by a broader discussion, which will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and share knowledge.

Nibbles and drinks start at 5.30 pm. The seminar will start shortly after 6 pm, following a short Special General Meeting (download agenda) to elect the 2015/16 RBMS committee.
