Wise Water Ways 2017
Now in its 18th year, Wise Water Ways is a unique practical workshop focussing on the management of Australian rural and urban streams and riparian areas.
Held annually in North East Victoria, over 830 individuals from across Australia have completed the 5 day course which provides government staff, consultants, university students, and others with the opportunity to learn, discuss and debate with a wide range of Australian’s top waterways researchers and managers.
Topics include the theory, practice and on-ground techniques of stream rehabilitation, stream assessment, stream ecology, catchment hydrology and geomorphology, stream channel management, water quality, environmental flows, fish habitat requirements, macroinvertebrate identification, riparian vegetation management and community engagement.
Our Keynote speaker this year is Mr Carl Binning, Executive Director, Environmental Management Division, Murray Darling Basin Authority , who will discuss future visions for the Murray Darling Basin.
Wise Water Ways will be held on 30 October – 3 November 2017 in Beechworth, North East Victoria.
